Bullet broke through window into dorm room at ESF

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — SUNY ESF has addressed an incident regarding a bullet found in a dorm room floor in Centennial Hall.

The bullet was fired from an unknown location, broke a window, and was found during the morning of May 1, according to ESF’s President, Joanie Mahoney.

Syracuse Police and ESF University Police responded to the incident.

No one was injured.

“There is no evidence that Centennial Hall or ESF students were targeted. The incident remains under investigation by the Syracuse Police Department with the cooperation of the ESF University Police Department,” said Mahoney.

Mahoney says that the incident may be troubling to students and their families.

Students have support available to them through ESF. They can contact the Division of Student Affairs at 315-470-6660 during regular business hours. ESF Counseling Services are also available in 110A Bray Hall, 315-470-4716.

ESF says the number is answered 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
