Best weather of the weekend Sunday

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – After needing the umbrellas Saturday afternoon/evening do Central New Yorkers need to keep the rain gear nearby the rest of this holiday weekend? Details are below…
Nicest day of the holiday weekend
High pressure is going to be in control of the weather for us and produce the nicest day of the holiday weekend Sunday. After some fog starts the day, we all turn partly to mostly sunny during the late morning and afternoon.

High temperatures once again are above average, topping out close to 80 degrees! Perfect for just about any outdoor activities, including the Watchfire at the Fairgrounds Sunday evening.

A wetter end to Memorial Day weekend
Unfortunately, our thinking for Memorial Day itself has not changed the last few days. A new frontal system arrives with more scattered showers and storms around. The threat of damaging winds and hail looks to be low and mainly confined to areas southwest of Syracuse toward the Finger Lakes, but heavy rain seems to be more likely which may lead to localized flash flooding.
Highs on Monday will be around 80 once again, and it will feel more humid as dew points climb back into the 60s. We also expect the wind to pick up with occasional gusts up to around 30 miles per hour.

As you head back to work after Monday the pattern is shaping up to be a bit damp at times and cool into the middle of the week.
