10th Mountain Division welcomes new senior Non-Commissioned Officer

FORT DRUM, N.Y. (WWTI) — Passing the flag, presenting new responsibility.
On May 29, the 10th Mountain Division held its Change of Responsibility ceremony, where the Division welcomed its new Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Command.
At the ceremony, outgoing Senior NCO CSM Nema Mobar relinquished responsibility to incoming NCO CSM Brett Johnson. This was marked by the passing of the 10th Mountain Division colors outside the Division headquarters.
CSM Johnson arrived at Fort Drum with years of military expertise. He previously served as the Command Sergeant Major for the 75th Ranger Regiment.
Johnson has served in every enlisted leadership position from Team Leader to his current rank. He has deployed 19 times in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
CSM Johnson addressed the 10th Mountain Division after he assumed responsibility.
“To the soldiers of the most deployed division in the Army, thank you for continuing to stand watch,” CSM Johnson stated. “For choosing a life that others would know. I look forward to serving our division and some of the most challenging times that our nation has to face.”
As the Division welcomed its new Senior NCO, it said farewell to outgoing Senior NCO Command Sergeant Major Nema Mobar.
CSM Major provided Division-wide support through historical missions and a nine-month deployment to Eastern Europe.
“While the division headquarters was deployed to Europe in the Black Sea Region, Nema Mobar held this fort down, this division down. And not just kept it afloat, he drove change, positive change in progress and growth,” 10th Mountain Division Commanding General Gregory Anderson said at the ceremony. “I’ve never seen it done better, nor have I seen more meaningful, positive change in such a short tour.”
However, CSM Mobar credited his success to his fellow 10th Mountain Division soldiers and fellow NCOs.
“Time and time again our country and Army look to the 10th Mountain Division. Because they know that they’re going to get a disciplined, lethal, humble and professional force,” CSM Mobar expressed. “From anywhere we’ve been sent, our soldiers, whether it’s training, mission’s support, I always received calls and emails on how terrific our soldiers have performed and how disciplined they were.”
Before CSM Mobar concluded his bittersweet final remarks at Fort Drum, he offered CSM Johnson and the entire Division advice.
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Take care of our soldiers, so they can climb to glory,” CSM Mobar said.
CSM Mobar will soon take responsibility at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.
