PHOTOS: CNY weather causing damage, some without power

CENTRAL NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) — Many woke up in the dark this morning, April 4.
High winds left thousands of homes without power, and multiple reports of downed poles, power lines and even trees.
Although no outages exist in Onondaga County, Oneida County has plenty.
In Utica, the weather forced crews to work throughout the night, on April 3. Downed wires and poles in the area caused fear for a Utica City School bus as live power lines fell.
Utica Police say a tractor-trailer hit a pole, which caused the lines to land on the bus and another car.
Only the driver was on the bus at the time. NewsChannel 9 is told everyone involved is okay.

Branches had blocked roads and trees had toppled onto cars in Tompkins County.
“Numerous trees and wires were down throughout the Town of Dryden and Tompkins County. Use caution and treat all wires as live until utility crews take care of them,” said Neptune Hose Co #1 of Dryden Inc. & Dryden Ambulance Inc. on April 3.

East of Syracuse is seeing the most problems with power.
National Grid is also showing several scattered outages in Oswego and Madison counties.
As for NYSEG, if you look at their outage map, power back on for a good chunk of customers this morning.
There are still a handful of outages throughout Madison and Herkimer counties but nearly no lights out in Oneida.
