SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) Temperatures will be on the rise this weekend, but will conditions stay dry? Find out below.
Showers Arrive Saturday
Partly sunny skies are expected early Saturday, but a warm front moving in from the southwest will increase clouds by the afternoon and bring scattered showers. There may even be some times of steady rain. Temperatures will reach the low 60s Saturday with winds from the south at 10-20 MPH.
Much Warmer Sunday!
The normal high for this time of the year is 63° and we will be well above that on Sunday. Highs will soar into the upper 70s. We will still have a good deal of cloud cover with isolated showers and storms. The stronger winds from Saturday will also diminish on Sunday.
Next Week
We continue to stay warm early next week as high pressure to our south gives us in Syracuse a southerly wind and pushes warm air into central New York. Temperatures will be close to 80 and it will feel slightly humid. With the summer like feel, a few showers and thunderstorms are also possible through the afternoon. Tuesday will feature another round of showers before conditions quiet down on Wednesday and turn more seasonable with highs down to the lower 70s.
Wrapping up the work week, low pressure that developed over Oklahoma will bring moisture into the northeast providing scattered showers Thursday and Friday.
