Auris Presents Opening Outset, a New 750-Capacity Venue in Chicago

Chicago impresario Nick Karounos and his partners at Auris Presents Stuart Hackley and John Curly are opening a 750-person capacity, 10,000 square foot venue in Chicago’s famed Bucktown neighborhood later this spring.

Outset, located on the outskirts of the Lincoln Yards mixed use development, will be a live-music focused venue “designed to offer the production value of a large-scale venue coupled with the vibe of an intimate and up-close setting,” a press release announcing the venue reads. “Outset provides the perfect atmosphere for established artists, while creating a new room for rising talent and, above all, will offer an unparalleled experience for Chicago music fans.”

Auris is positioning Outset’s state-of-the-art audio and production capabilities as a game changer amongst the city’s smaller venues with a “warm fan-focused experience will provide attendees with elements not found in similarly sized venues.” The venue will be powered by d&b audiotechnik’s XSL line array and loud speaker system to provide fans with a full spectrum of acoustical performance specifically tuned for the live experience, spread out over the venues main floor and wrap-around balcony.

Auris Presents also operates the Concord Music Hall and Radius nightclub.

“For us, music is how we make memories. We’re excited to bring more experiences, artists, and moments to life as we add to the fabric of Chicago’s musical landscape for decades to come.” Hackley said in a statement to Billboard.

Outset’s initial show calendar features two-night runs from Parliament Funkadelic ft George Clinton w/ Dumpstaphunk (June 1-2), Thievery Corporation (Sept. 23-24), Rawayana June 16 and 22), and Unknown Mortal Orchestra (Aug. 14-15). A completed schedule of shows is below.
