#7 Syracuse upsets #4 Virginia at home


SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR) — With four straight goals to end the game, #7/6 Syracuse pulled out a 18-17 win over #4 Virginia at home for their third top five victory this season.
Owen Hiltz led the team with eight points (3 goals and five assists) while Christian Mule and Finn Thompson also finished with hat tricks. Jake Stevens and Michael Leo chipped in two a piece. Sam English had one goal on the day, but it was the last goal of the game putting them in the lead over UVA.
Will Mark had a great performance in net with 15 saves, his third time in the last four games. SU also dominated on the faceoff winning 21-of-39.
With the win, Syracuse moves to 3-1 in the ACC and 11-4 overall and look ahead to the ACC Tournament, awaiting their seeding.
