Winter Storm Watches back up for parts of CNY
SYRACUSE, N.Y.(WSYR-TV) — Even as lake effect snow winds down Thursday afternoon across central New York, the National Weather Service has issued new Winter Storm Watches for Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, and northern Oneida Counties. They go into effect late Friday afternoon and expire early Saturday afternoon.
Wet snow moves into central New York Friday evening and continues through the night. In the Watch area there could be 6-12″ of snow by midday Saturday.
Farther south, including the Syracuse area, there will be more of a rain/snow mix which will keeps totals down. Right now, 1-3″ is expected in Syracuse but a change in the temperatures by just a degree or two could cause more snow and less rain so stay tuned for updates.
