Winter Storm Warning north of Syracuse

Most of CNY, including Syracuse will see about 1 to as much as 3 or 4 inches of snow between Tuesday afternoon and sunset Wednesday. However, across parts of Oswego and Lewis counties, particularly around the Tug Hill Plateau up to a foot of snow is possible in spots in the most persistent snows during the same time frame with some rough travel at times.
Due to the more significant snow expected east of Lake Ontario, especially around the Tug Hill, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in these spots till 8 pm Wednesday.

For most of CNY outside Oswego and Lewis counties, roads may become a bit slick/sloppy Tuesday night and at times Wednesday, but remain mainly wet.
Some additional moderate to heavy lake snow is expected behind an arctic cold front Wednesday night into the start of Thursday that will likely impact the Finger Lakes region, including Syracuse at times. Several inches is expected with rough travel within the band(s) of lake snow. Stay tuned for updates and any winter alerts issued.
