What food services passed or failed their health inspection: March 10-16

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Onondaga County Health Department released its inspection reports for restaurants checked from March 10 through March 16.

One food service received an unsatisfactory inspection:

• Sonic Drive-in – 3170 Erie Boulevard East, Dewitt

Sonic Drive-in

This restaurant received nine violations, with none in critical condition.

Food not protected in general: The inspector found the Sonic Freeze machine lacked a lid, and the product was not protected.

Improper cleaning, washing and sanitizing of equipment and utensils: The inspector found the exterior of the drink machines and coolers were not clean, the fan guards in the walk-in freezer were not clean, and the fan guards in the walk-in cooler had heavy dust accumulation.

This violation was found three times.

Improper construction and maintenance of physical facilities: The inspector found some floor edging, under and around equipment that was not clean. They also found the floor in the dining room was not clean and had food debris. The floor drains throughout had debris and build-up, and standing water was on the floor in different areas throughout kitchen.

This violation was found four times.

Miscellaneous, economic violation, choking poster, training: The inspector found unused and broken equipment throughout the kitchen and dining area.

Many locations passed their inspections between March 10 through March 16.
