Twin sister of Shamrock Run runner dies days later

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — This year’s Shamrock Run was more meaningful than ever for one family.
Last year, twin sisters Analisia and Juliana Liedka finished at the top of their age bracket.
This year, Juliana had to run alone on Saturday, March 9, because her sister Analisia was battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer, but not totally alone.
While running, Juliana called her sister, who was in the hospital, to join for some of the race virtually. Not even two days later, Analisia passed away Monday, March 11.
On Sunday, NewsChannel 9 spoke to Juliana who shared how much she admired her twin sister.
“I really admire that even though she’s really tired all the time. even when she’s in pain, she manages to keep a smile on her face,” Liedka said.

The twin’s grandmother said Analisia felt so much love from the Shamrock Run crowd on Saturday. She called it “one last run.”
