SU loses final regular season game to Clemson 90-75

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — In their final regular season matchup, Syracuse men’s basketball could not come back for the win and falls on the road to Clemson 90-75.

After the Orange went down by 11 in the beginning of the game after an early run, SU was able to come back to within two with eight minutes to go in the first half. The Tigers brought it back and went up 42-30 at the break.

While Syracuse pushed for the comeback in the second, Clemson’s offense was overpowering for the Orange. Led by PJ Hall with 25 points, the Tigers outscored the Orange 48-45 in the second half and overall shot 56% from field goal range. Former SU guard, Joe Girard III, racked up 21 points and made four shots from beyond the arc contributing to Clemson’s 11 total three-pointers.

For the Orange, Judah Mintz led the team with 20 points followed closely behind by Quadir Copeland off the bench with 17. SU had two other players with double digits, Maliq Brown with 12 and JJ Starling with 10. For Syracuse, they now fall to 11-9 in the conference and 5th in the ACC standings.

Next up for the Orange is the ACC Tournament, which is March 12 – March 16, 2024 in Washington, DC.
