Quiet night ahead with winds tapering

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – Winds slowly relax tonight, and then we gear up for the return of spring weather! Details are below…
Central New York had a brief bout of winter weather that produced some slick travel Sunday night into the start of Monday and woke up to a few inches or less of snow Monday. How much fell across the region? Click here to find out.
Quiet, winds easing tonight
The Wind Advisory is expiring this evening across CNY as winds slowly settle this evening, and even more so near and after midnight. Wind gusts of 30 to 40+ mph this evening will ease and be closer to 5 mph much of the overnight.

Also, some high and mid-level clouds scoot through the area tonight helping keep temperatures up a bit. Lows should not drop any lower than the low to mid 30s for most of CNY.

Back to spring
After a seasonable, blustery Monday, temperatures jump back up into the 50s Tuesday with some more sun, and we probably feel the 60s again come Wednesday despite more clouds!

Have umbrella handy late in the week
We cool some to end the week as rain chances return but even that said we’ll remain warmer than average.

We think highs reach the 50s to near 60 Thursday, and closer to 50 Friday. Reminder, the average high this week in Syracuse is in the low 40s.
