NYSP: Man raped ex-girlfriend at Clay hotel

CLAY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — New York State Police were called to the Comfort Inn and Suites on State Route 31 in Clay around 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, for a report of a fight.

When NYSP arrived, they talked to the caller, a 36-year-old woman, who said her ex-boyfriend had just forcibly raped her.

State Police say the woman rented a hotel room for the night with her current boyfriend after celebrating her birthday at a nearby restaurant.

After spending the night in the room, the boyfriend left around 11 a.m. the next morning to get a soda from the vending machine. The ex-boyfriend, identified by police as Pierre Reese, then went into the room and forcibly raped his ex-girlfriend, according to NYSP.

The current boyfriend tried to get back into the room but was locked out. Reese then left the room abruptly and physically confronted the current boyfriend, NYSP said.

Reese does have a history of stalking the woman, according to NYSP. He was able to obtain a room key at 6 a.m. on Sunday from the overnight receptionist under false pretenses.

Police detained Reese at the scene. He is now charged with first-degree rape and was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center, pending arraignment.
