Is luck on our side weather-wise this weekend??
SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) –Clouds ruled the day over most of central New York Friday. Will the sun make a guest appearance over the weekend? Find out below…
Quiet weather tonight
It is a quiet night for central New York as skies remain mostly cloudy. There is a weak cold front passing by to our north so there may be a few showers over the North Country, perhaps as far south as the Tug Hill Plateau.
With the clouds around, it doesn’t get all that cold tonight with lows in the 30s to near 40.
Any ‘luck’ staying dry for the holiday weekend??
Yes, we think there will be some ‘luck’ for those out and about celebrating this holiday weekend.
We’ve got some good news for Saturday if you are headed to the St. Patrick’s Parade in downtown Syracuse. First, conditions should be dry. While a mostly cloudy sky is expected for the start of the parade at noon, we also think some sunny breaks occur during the parade.
Second, temperatures look like they end up in the low or even mid 50s by the end of the parade! If that ends up being the case that would make this year’s parade the warmest since 2016!
Unfortunately, it appears there’s a better chance of at least a few rain and even higher elevations snow showers on St. Patrick’s Day itself with highs in the mid-40s.
A stretch of cooler weather is set to move in for early next week with several days of below normal temperatures for a change and more snow showers. There could even be a light accumulation come Monday night.
