Bolinsky Nominee for AFCA Good Works Team

NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Syracuse senior long snapper Aaron Bolinsky is a nominee for the 2022 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®. He is one of 114 nominees released by the American Football Coaches Association on Wednesday, July 20.

The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® was established in 1992 by the College Football Association, recognizing the extra efforts made by college football players and student support staff off the field.  From the 114 nominees, the final roster of 23 award recipients will bring together 11 players from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision; 11 players from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision, Divisions II, III and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA); and one honorary head coach. To be considered for a spot on the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, each player must be actively involved with a charitable organization or service group while maintaining strong academic standing.

Bolinsky, an accounting and finance major, has served as president of the Syracuse Chapter of Uplifting Athletes, which is a nonprofit organization made up of a national network of chapters dedicated to inspiring the rare-disease community through the power of sport, since 2020-21. One of Bolinsky’s main functions as president is to organize the 2022 “Lift for Life,” which was held Tuesday, July 19 at the Lally Athletics Complex.

On the field, Bolinsky has been a key member of the special teams unit for the past four years. He has snapped for All-American specialists Andre Szmyt, Nolan Cooney and Sterling Hofrichter. Bolinsky has six career tackles, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery in punt coverage.

The final 22-member team and honorary coach are selected by a voting panel of former Allstate AFCA Good Works Team members and journalists.
