ITHACA, N.Y. – No. 4 Syracuse travels to Ithaca, N.Y. on Tuesday, April 12 to take on Cornell. Opening draw is set for 7 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (10-3) lost to top-ranked North Carolina on Saturday, 14-12. The clash featured eight ties and four lead changes. No team held an advantage of more than three goals. The loss marked Syracuse’s first ACC defeat of the season while the Tar Heels (13-0) remain the lone undefeated team in the country.
 
Senior Meaghan Tyrrell recorded six points (4g, 2a) to lead the Orange attack while sophomore Natalie Smith tallied a career-high three goals.
 
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell (7-4) is coming off a 13-9 victory over Ivy League-foe Penn on Saturday. It marked the Big Red’s fourth win in their last five games after starting the season 3-3.
 
Three upperclassmen, senior Amanda Cramer, senior Genevieve DeWinter, and junior Sophie Ward, spearhead Cornell’s offense. All have scored at least 20 goals this season. Graduate goalkeeper
Katie McGahan has been stellar in net with a .490 save percentage.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Syracuse and Cornell have met 23 times throughout their programs’ history, with the last matchup being a 16-13 ‘Cuse win in the Dome in 2019. The Orange are currently on a 13-game winning streak against the Big Red, with Cornell’s last victory over Syracuse coming in 2006.
 
While Syracuse has won 18 of the 23 meetings, Cornell has done well to defend their home turf. Syracuse is 7-5 all-time when playing in Ithaca.
