Orange Climb to #3 in National Rankings

Syracuse moved up one spot to No.3 in this week’s ILWomen/IWLCA Division I poll released on Monday. The Orange posted a 13-4 record during the regular season and earned the No. 3 seed in this week’s ACC Tournament with a 6-2 league record.
Friday’s ACC quarterfinal opponent, Virginia, is No. 16 in this week’s poll. ACC regular-season champion North Carolina holds the No. 1 spot in the rankings, followed by Boston College. The Orange have faced seven of this week’s top 10, posting a 3-4 mark in those contests.
Senior Meaghan Tyrrell ranks fourth in the nation in points with 93. She needs seven points to become just the third player in program history to record 100 points in a season twice in her career. In addition, Tyrrell is just 10 points shy of becoming the sixth member of the Orange to reach the 300-point plateau.
Syracuse opens ACC Tournament play on Friday, April 29 against the Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network and on WJPZ 89.1FM in Syracuse.
