Tyrrell Earns ACC Honors


GREENSBORO, N.C. – Syracuse junior Emma Tyrrell is this week’s ACC Women’s Lacrosse Co-Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Orange to a 17-16 overtime victory against No. 17 Notre Dame.
Tyrrell tied her career highs with seven points and three assists in the victory. She recorded a personal-best nine draw controls, helping Syracuse to a 20-16 advantage in the draw circle. In addition, Tyrrell’s four goals against the Fighting Irish are her season high.
It marks the third consecutive week that a member of the Orange has earned a Player of the Week honor. Meaghan Tyrrell was the USA Lacrosse Player of the Week after the opening weekend of the season, while Megan Carney was the IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week after leading Syracuse past then No. 4 Stony Brook.
Following today’s game against No. 6 Northwestern, Tyrrell and the Orange return to the Carrier Dome to host No. 7 Duke on Sunday, March 6 at noon. Tickets can be purchased at Cuse.com/tickets.
