SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Another top-10 battle awaits No. 3 Syracuse when it hosts No. 7 Duke on Sunday, March 6. Opening draw is set for 12 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

ORANGE UPDATE
After defeating Notre Dame in overtime in its ACC opener in the first game of a two-game road trip, Syracuse lost in extra time at No. 6 Northwestern, 16-15 for its first setback of the season. Graduate student Emily Hawryschuk led the Orange, netting six goals and recording a career-high nine points.
Junior Savannah Sweitzer scored twice, a season-high for the midfielder who joined ‘Cuse from USC this offseason.
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
Duke has opened the 2022 season on a tear, winning their first six games and scoring 131 times in that span. Graduate student Catriona Barry and sophomore Katie DeSimone have led the Blue Devils’ offensive attack with 41 and 33 points, respectively.
While the Blue Devils’ offense leads the nation in scoring, the defense ranks fifth, allowing just 6.50 goals per game.
Syracuse will serve as Duke’s ACC-opener before the Blue Devils head back to Durham for a four-game homestand.
SERIES HISTORY
Syracuse and Duke will meet for the ninth time on Sunday. The Orange hold a 6-2 advantage in the series.
Last season, Syracuse triumphed 15-5 in Durham. Meaghan Tyrrell led the Orange with seven points while Katie Cronin paced the Blue Devils with three.
UP NEXT
Syracuse begins a three-game road trip in Charlottesville when it takes on No. 13 Virginia on March 12. The Orange then go on to face No. 11 Florida on March 16 and Virginia Tech on March 19 before returning home.
