Women's Basketball Heads to Miami Thursday

The Syracuse women’s basketball team (9-10, 2-7 ACC) travels to Miami (11-9, 4-5 ACC) for a Thursday night conference game. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. with Alex Schwartz and Megan Perry on the call. 

Syracuse looks to win back-to-back games for the first time since December when they take on the Hurricanes Thursday. The Orange are coming off an 80-72 home win vs. Pitt last Sunday. Miami was one of six ACC teams that played Tuesday night, losing to No. 4 Louisville 69-66 in Coral Gables. 

Teisha Hyman leads Syracuse with 15.2 points per game. All five Orange starters are averaging double figures in scoring in a balanced effort. Syracuse averages 74.2 points per game and leads the ACC in both steals per game (10.8) and free throw percentage (.791). ‘Cuse forced 23 turnovers in the win vs. Pitt and averages 21.4 points off turnovers per game this season. 

The Hurricanes are led by Kelsey Marshall (14.0 ppg). She is the only Miami player averaging double figures in scoring. Syracuse alum and Miami grad student Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi is third on the team in scoring with 7.3 ppg in 19 appearances. Miami is 8-4 at home this season and has won two of its last five games. The Hurricanes average 61.8 ppg and are holding opponents to under 60 points per game (58.4). 

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables. Fans can watch the action live on ACCNX through the ESPN app.
