Q&A with Christianna Carr

As the Syracuse Orange prepare to host Florida State in the Carrier Dome on Thursday, Feb. 15 (6 p.m., ACCNX), we continue our Q&A series to help you get to know your Orange! In this edition we talk with senior Christianna Carr

1. Why is your father someone that inspires you?My father is someone that inspires me because he is always someone that has been there for me in my basketball journey and someone who has never given up on me. He has had a lot of obstacles in his career and has overcome them, so I can trust that he is steering me in the right direction.

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Somewhere in a well-decorated, nice apartment in a city with a balanced career. Hopefully playing basketball still, he-he.

3. Who is an athlete that you would want to share the court with?
I would like to share the court with Lebron James. He’s just goated in my opinion and i would freak out if I got to play with him

4. What movie make you laugh even after watching it several times?
I would say the funniest movie I have ever watched and could watch again and again would be Girls Trip.

5. What is something that will always make your day better?
A nap will always be something that makes my day better. I love my sleep.

6. When did you realize basketball was the sport for you?
I would say in 8th grade when I got my first [scholarship] offer. It was one of the best feelings in the world to know my hard work was paying off!

7. When was the last time you felt an adrenaline rush?
When I went on a rollercoaster in Kansas. I hadn’t been on one in forever and it was really fun.

8. Do you have any pregame rituals?
I have a lot of pregame rituals. I don’t put my jersey on or do my hair until right before we run out to play. I wear my socks the same way every game. If I’m playing bad in the first half I will change my hairstyle at halftime. My hands can never feel too dry or oily or I’ll wash my hands a bunch until they feel fine. I pray during the National Anthem. I high-five Alaysia, then Naje, then Chrislyn right before tip-off in that order. There are so many I could go on for days. I’m very superstitious.

9. Where is your favorite place to go on campus?
My favorite place to go on campus is Dunkin’ in the Schine Student Center.

10. What is your favorite basketball memory?
My favorite basketball memory would be being able to play under my dad and getting to travel the world with him as one of my coaches, I’ll forever hold that in my heart.
