Orange to Compete at US Lacrosse Fall Classic

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse will be well represented at this weekend’s Fall Classic hosted by US Lacrosse in Sparks, Md. Graduate students Sam Swart and Emily Hawryschuk, junior Bianca Chevarie and sophomore Maddy Baxter will compete at the event.
Swart and Hawryschuk are part of the U.S. training team roster, that also features Orange head coach Kayla Treanor ’16 and assistant coach Kenzie Kent. The roster also includes former ‘Cuse standouts Ella Simkins ’21, Becca Block ’13 and Liz Hogan ’11.
Chevarie and Baxter will compete for Team Canada along with former Orange Taylor Gait ’18 and Alie Jimerson ’18. In addition, Gary Gait, who coached the Orange women’s program from 2008-21 and is now the Syracuse men’s head coach, will serve as an assistant coach for Team Canada.
The 2021 Fall Classic will take place at USA Lacrosse headquarters and begins on Friday, Oct. 15. The U.S. will take on Canada at 8 p.m. Both teams take on Boston College on Saturday, Oct. 16. Team Canada is in action at 2:30, while the U.S. concludes the day’s action at 7:30 p.m.
