'Cuse Cracks Top-25

For the first time since 2019, the Syracuse football team is ranked.

The Orange check in at No. 25 in the AFCA Coaches Poll, receiving 74 votes. ‘Cuse is one-of-six teams from the ACC represented in the poll, five of which hail from the ACC Atlantic division, which marks the most ranked teams of any division in college football.

‘Cuse is off to its first 4-0 start since the 2018 season and is on the precipice of its best start to a season in 35 years. The last time a ‘Cuse team began the season 5-0 came in 1987.

The ranking continues a strong trend for Syracuse fall sports teams, which currently has four programs represented in the in their respective polls and will likely add a fifth later this week. In addition to football, the ‘Cuse men’s soccer team is ranked No. 3 in the nation, the field hockey team is ranked No. 11, men’s cross country checks in at No. 20 and the women’s cross country team is receiving votes. However, both cross country teams took down a bevy of ranked squads this weekend, meaning a climb for both teams and a breakthrough into the poll for the women is almost certain come Tuesday.

Syracuse football has four remaining home dates for fans to come watch one of the 25-best teams in the nation. Tickets are available at Cuse.com/Tickets.
