Meet the Orange: #10 Ava Irvin

In the latest episode of Meet the Orange, Ava Irvin discusses growing up in Atlanta and her family’s influence on her basketball career, her love for music and why fans should come out and support the team this season. 

Irvin, a junior guard, has appeared in 17 games over the last two seasons at Syracuse and was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the Fall of 2021. A graduate of Greater Atlanta Christian School, Irvin helped guide team to the 2020 State Championship as captain her senior year. 

Her father, Ken Irvin, was a fourth round draft pick in the 1995 NFL Draft and went on to play 10 seasons in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills, New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings. Irvin grew up in a competitive household with her dad and mom (Shay), and older brother Joshua, which has shaped her into the person and athlete she is. 

The Meet the Orange miniseries is aimed to introduce fans to the new faces of @CuseWBB and build excitement for Coach Jack’s first season leading her alma mater.
