2022 Schedule and Promotions
Louisville – Saturday, Sept. 3
The home opener will add extra importance in 2022 as Syracuse opens the season with a conference opponent at home for the first time since joining the ACC. The last time ‘Cuse hosted a conference foe in the season opener was 2005.
In addition to the home opener excitement, it’ll be Youth Sports Day in the JMA Dome. Youth groups and sports teams are available to attend the game at special group ticket rates by contacting 888-DOME-TIX.
Purdue – Saturday, Sept. 17
Syracuse University faculty and staff members will be treated to the annual faculty and staff appreciation day. The game will feature Syracuse’s first ever matchup with the Boilermakers at home. It’ll be a tough challenge as well as Purdue finished last season with a 9-4 record and was receiving votes in the final AP Poll.
Virginia – Friday, Sept. 23
Syracuse hosts Virginia on a Friday night. The Orange are looking to continue their past success on Friday nights. ‘Cuse has won six of their last nine Friday games and holds a 7-4 Friday record under head coach Dino Babers. The streak includes ‘Cuse’s 27-24 win against No. 2 Clemson in 2017 and the 2018 Camping World victory against West Virginia as its most notable wins over that time.
Wagner – Saturday, Oct. 1
Orange Central is homecoming and reunion rolled into one exciting weekend for ‘Cuse alumni—including class gatherings and a spirited tailgate before Saturday’s game. Visit orangecentral.syr.edu for more information. When registration opens in July, you can purchase your discounted game tickets as you sign up for the rest of the weekend’s activities.
It’ll also be Band Day, where local high school bands are invited to perform as well. Contact Director of Athletic Bands Tim Diem to participate in Band Day at twdiem@syr.edu.
NC State – Saturday, Oct. 15
The first of three-straight opponents that finished in the top-20 of last season’s final AP Poll (two of which are at home), ‘Cuse hosts NC State on Family Weekend.

Florida State – Saturday, Nov. 12
Syracuse’s seniors who’re playing their final home game as members of the Orange football program will be honored. Following the game, outgoing seniors will participate in the Senior Walk, which has become an annual tradition. Fans are invited down to the railing of the 100 level, as senior players will make their way around saying a good bye and thank you to ‘Cuse fans.
Syracuse will also host Military Appreciation Day presented by SEFCU on Veterans Day weekend. Syracuse fans have the opportunity to thank a veteran or active military member for their service by sponsoring military tickets to the game. Visit Cuse.com/military for more information.
The 2022 Orange return 17-of-22 starters from last year’s squad including a pair of First Team All-ACC selections in All-American running back Sean Tucker and linebacker Mikel Jones, setting up for an exciting fall.
