St. Lawrence County Public Health launches overdose dashboard
CANTON, N.Y. (WWTI) – The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is hoping to spread awareness about drug overdoses in the county.
The county’s health department, in partnership with the St. Lawrence County Planning Office, is has announced the launch of its new Overdose Dashboard, a tool providing data on drug overdoses within the county.
The dashboard will be accessible to the public, offers insights into overdose incidents, including geographic distribution, demographic data, and trends over time. This platform aims to enhance the county’s response to the opioid epidemic by enabling more targeted interventions and resource allocation.
Some of the new features of the dashboard include:
- Time/Data: Access to the latest overdose reports, supporting up-to-date information, and informed decision-making.
- Geographic Mapping: Visual representation of overdose hotspots, helping to identify
areas in need of urgent attention. - Trend Analysis: Historical data to track the progression of the opioid crisis and measure
the impact of public health initiatives.
Development of the dashboard was made possible through collaboration with St. Lawrence County Community Services, North Country Crime Analysis Center, and High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas. The dashboard is part of a broader strategy to enhance public health surveillance and response capabilities in St. Lawrence County.
