Strathmore woman has her tires stolen off her car while it’s in her driveway

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Starting your Sunday morning by finding your car had all of its tires taken from it overnight can be quite the shock.
For Kamrin Kucera, a Strathmore resident, she was living through it and looking for answers.
“Woke up this morning to this. Cars were locked but it didn’t matter. Apparently Syracuse’s theives have moved on to wheels and tires,” she wrote in the Strathmore Neighborhood Facebook group.
According to both the post and Syracuse Police, the car was in her driveway on Wellesley Road when the larceny took place. The suspects took all four tires.
Police responded to Kucera’s home around 10:15 a.m. on June 9, but the incident happened the night before.
Kucera used social media as a platform to warn her neighbors and others in the area.
“My son had this happen a few years ago. Only thing police said was to put locking lug nuts on a set of new tires. Thief was super fast. He lived in Strathmore too,” one commenter wrote.
Another said, “It is infuriating to have these types of crimes. Sorry you have to deal with this.”
In one comment reply, Kucera explained that on the night of the crime, her windows were open but neither of her dogs barked.
“Enough is enough!” said Kucera.
Syracuse Police’s spokesperson says they do not think this type of theft is a trend, as far as they know.
