Baldwinsville high school student arrested for impersonating principal

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A high school student at Baldwinsville’s Charles W. Baker High School was arrested after impersonating the school’s principal.
Baldwinsville police say the 17-year-old student created fake school email accounts and used them to send a fax posing as the principal resigning from the school.
The student was caught because police saw he put his own cell phone number on the fax.
Police also say before sending the fax, the student used two fake school staff email accounts and tried to get a student in trouble and get personal information about another student.
He is charged with one count of criminal impersonation in the second degree for the emails and a second count of criminal impersonation for the fax, according to Baldwinsville police.
