Will we see any sun on Sunday?

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – With temperatures in the upper teens and lower 20s Sunday morning, many of us are waking up to a frosty start. See how our temperatures are looking for the rest of the day below.

Chilly Sunday with some sun

Even though it will feel cool on Sunday, temperatures will actually be above the average for this time of the year. Expect highs to reach the upper 30s where we normally should be around 32. Mostly clear skies in the morning will fade behind clouds by the afternoon. Skies do look to remain dry if you have any outdoor plans. But a light breeze from the north will add an additional chill to the air.

Staying dry and turning mild

We are lined up for a nice, unusually long dry stretch of weather through Thursday. As high pressure continues to dominate the region, we can look forward to more and more sunshine through the week. In addition to the quiet weather and sunshine, temperatures will begin to warm up into the 40s by midweek and even approach, if not exceed 50 by Thursday and Friday.

The next chance for any precipitation will likely arrive as rain as we expect a cold front to move in from the west by Friday afternoon. Conditions will be turning cloudy and breezy ahead of the cold front as early as Thursday afternoon.

Into the weekend and especially by mid next week, much colder air is expected to return to central New York.
