Usher is headlining Apple Music’s Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show on Sunday, and in a new promo for the highly anticipated performance titled “Where’s USHER?,” the R&B superstar throws his celebrity friends into a panic when he goes missing in Sin City.
In the hilarious seven-minute clip, Ludacris, Taraji P. Henson and Lil Jon try to get ahold of Usher in Las Vegas before his performance at Allegiant Stadium this weekend. After discovering that he’s gone missing, the trio go on a choatic, The Hangover-inspired adventure around the Strip to find him, to the tune of Usher’s biggest hits. Throughout the journey, they call on stars like Anderson .Paak (aka DJ Pee Wee), J Balvin and “Leslie Snipes” (Wesley Snipes’ bounty-hunter brother) — before ultimately finding him performing “Burn” at the Caesars Palace Fountain.
It was announced back in September that Usher would headline the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show presented by Apple Music. In his new Billboard cover interview, Usher said “It’s more about anticipation than jitters” ahead of the big game. “I’m so ready for it to happen. I just want to sing louder than I’ve ever sang; dance harder than I’ve ever danced. I want to celebrate the 30 years of this career where I’m very fortunate to have made songs and moments with people that they will remember forever.”
Usher also announced that his ninth album, Coming Home, will arrive on Super Bowl Sunday. This set marks his first new album since 2016’s Hard II Love, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. He’ll also embark on the Usher: Past Present Future Tour, which will take him across North America toward the end of summer and into the fall.
