Two Seneca Falls residents arrested after child is found impaired by substances in home

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Two Seneca Falls residents were arrested after a child was found in their home impaired by substances on Friday, according to the Seneca Falls Police Department.

Police said Angelia Ely, 32, and Earl Heath, 42, were in their home when Seneca County Child Protective Services responded to the address due to a court-ordered mandate for the removal of a child reportedly in immediate peril.

Upon arrival at the home, officers said Ely would not allow them to go inside the child’s room while Heath held onto the child. After getting in the room, they said they found a child was found to be impaired by substances and was taken to Clifton Springs Hospital.

After an investigation, police said they found drugs such as cocaine near another child inside the home.

Both Ely and Heath were arrested. They are currently under investigation for endangerment of a child and obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree. An order of protection was issued for the children involved.
