Syracuse gets blown out at Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WSYR-TV) –

The Syracuse men’s basketball team dropped its second straight game on Saturday night, getting blown out at Wake Forest 99-70. It’s the first time since November 21st, that SU has lost back-to-back games.

Wake Forest put up 42 points in the first half, building a 14-point halftime lead. Justin Taylor would try and keep the Orange in it. Taylor cut the Demon Deacons lead to 11, two minutes into the second half, with a three-point field goal. Taylor scored 10 points, all in the second half.

The Demon Deacons though simply couldn’t miss. Wake Forest finished 12-19 from behind the arc, shooting 66 percent from the field. Hunter Sallis hit four triples, pouring in a game-high 24 points. Boopie Miller finished with 21 points, going 10-14 from the field.

J.J. Starling paced Syracuse with 15 points. Judah Mintz added 13 points, all in the first half.

Syracuse was out rebounded by 14. Wake Forest is now a perfect 12-0 on their home floor this season.

SU drops to 14-8 overall (5-6 in the ACC).

Syracuse returns to action on Wednesday at the JMA Wireless Dome against Louisville.
