New smartphone app coming soon from Jefferson Co. Emergency service & public health

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – Jefferson County Fire & Emergency Management and the Jefferson County Public Health Service are teaming up for the release of a new, custom smartphone application.

This app, called Prepare Jefferson County NY, will serve as an innovative way for the County agencies to connect with Jefferson County residents and visitors, providing information quickly and efficiently to anyone with a smartphone.

The smartphone app was designed and developed to enhance emergency preparedness in our community. In just a few clicks, users can access features such as:

  • How to be more prepared for emergencies and disasters in Be Prepared
  • Power Outage Information
  • Reporting Storm Damage
  • Learn about Public Health Programs and Services
  • Track Public Health Clinic, Vaccination, Events, and Resources
  • Discover information about important Health Topics
  • And more

Over 80-percent of people in the United States own and use smartphones as their primary means of communication. The Prepare Jefferson County, NY mobile app offers our county agencies a better way to connect. One of government’s responsibilities in crisis management is to keep our constituents prepared and informed. The Prepare Jefferson County, NY App puts another tool in our arsenal to do that.
