Learn survival skills at Baltimore Woods this spring

MARCELLUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Learning survival and life skills at a young age is important, yes, but what about when you’re an adult?

Baltimore Woods is hosting Bushcraft Skills Series, a set of adult classes beginning March 23, that are designed to build outdoor skills and confidence for the modern adventurer.

“Of course outdoorsy people think that knowing how to build a fire is important. The cavemen thought so too, but did you ever consider that it could be a fundamental life skill for everyone?” said Baltimore Woods.

During these classes, attendees will be taught by wilderness expert Jeff Devine how to:

  • Build fire from scratch
  • Find food and water in nature
  • Craft essential tools
  • Use natural navigation

This series is from March until September.

“…participants will be immersed in 30+ hours of hands-on skills across six intensive hands-on workshops, culminating in an overnight camping adventure where they can put their newfound skills to the challenge,” said Baltimore Woods.

The cost of the program is $360 for the full series and will run on March 23, May 4, June 8, July 20, and Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

There will be an overnight camping experience on Sep. 21-22, from 12 p.m. – 12 p.m.

Pre-registration is required and spaces are limited. To learn more or to register, visit HERE.
