Four in St. Lawrence Co. charged with possession of meth

GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. (WWTI) – Four people are facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop in St. Lawrence County Wednesday night, Feb. 7.

The Gouverneur Police Department stated it pulled over a Ford Escape on the Country Club Road in the Town of Fowler and found methamphetamine in the vehicle. However, authorities did not say how much of the drug was in the SUV at the time of the stop.

Each of the four people in the vehicle was charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Here are the four people that were arrested during the stop:

  • Thomas Love II, age 55, from Gouverneur
  • Kyle Daniels, 37, Hermon
  • Lucas Currier, 27, Gouverneur
  • Ashley Williams, 28, Ogdensburg

A couple additional charges were given to Daniels. One was for failure to keep right, along with aggravated unlicensed operation.

All were arraigned in the Fowler Town Court. Love II was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail on $5,000 bail. Daniels was taken to the county jail to await arraignment on a bench warrant.

Williams is being held without bail while Currier was released.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, New York State Police and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security assisted the Gouverneur Police.
