Watch Kate Hudson Deliver a Laid-Back Take of Chris Stapleton’s ‘White Horse’

Multifaceted actress, singer, author and businesswoman Kate Hudson shared a few musical moments behind the mic from a recent intimate gathering she held with friends in Aspen, Colo. — including her rendition of Chris Stapleton’s current radio hit “White Horse,” which is at No. 6 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart.

Hudson shared videos and photos on social media, including a TikTok video of herself performing a laid-back, slightly raspy rendition of the song. She captioned the video, “A little lady rendition of ‘White Horse.’”

On Instagram, she shared more video snippets of her performance, including her takes of “White Horse,” Patty Griffin’s “When It Don’t Come Easy,” Ryan Adams’ “Come Pick Me Up’ and Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night.” Several artists, including Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman, commented on Hudson’s Instagram page with words of praise. “Sang it, girl!” Lambert commented, while Schlapman simply wrote “Yes! Yes! Yes!!!!”

A year ago, Hudson signed a music management deal with Sandbox Entertainment, led by Jason Owen. The company’s roster also includes Kelsea Ballerini, Dan+Shay and Kacey Musgraves. At the time of the signing, Hudson also revealed she has been working on an album.

“Music has always been my touchstone,” Hudson said in a statement. “To finally feel ready to share mine is deeply personal to me, almost like a musical memoir. Writing this album over the past year and a half has been the most gratifying and immersive experience and I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Jason to bring it into the world.”

Hudson has gained acclaim for her roles in films including Almost Famous, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Additionally, fans have seen her vocal talent in the movie Nine, as well as the project Music, which earned Hudson a Golden Globe nomination in the best actress in a comedy or musical category.
