Saturday was the coldest day in over a year!

The coldest air of the winter of 2023-24 thus far this past weekend is now behind us in central New York.

CNY plunged into the single digits above and below zero Saturday morning across CNY, the thermometer never read any higher than 16° in Syracuse Saturday afternoon/evening. That was the coldest high temperature recorded in Syracuse since Christmas Eve 2022, or about 13 months ago!

The coldest temperature felt since Christmas weekend of 2022 is -13° back in the first part of February of last winter. The coldest temperature felt in Syracuse was Saturday’s low of 7°, and it appears it’s going to be the coldest we feel for at least the next week or two as a milder weather pattern settles into the Northeast and much of the country to end January and start February.
