CAMILLUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Just after 9 a.m. on Jan. 30, State Police were sent to a two-car accident west of Flat Rock Road in the Town of Camillus.
A 2016 Nissan, driven by a 33-year-old from Liverpool, was headed eastbound on Route 321 when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
NYSP say the 33-year-old driver was traveling off the shoulder of the roadway, then overcorrected causing the vehicle to head back onto the road, and then corrected a second time, which put the vehicle back into the eastbound lane.
That is when the 33-year-old crashed into a 2021 Buick, which was driven by 52-year-old Mark Lovell, of Auburn.
The 33-year-old driver was taken to Upstate University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Lovell was also taken to Upstate University Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
According to NYSP, the 33-year-old may have suffered a medical event prior to the crash and showed no signs of alcohol or drug-related impairment.
The investigation is continuing.
