Wonka made a sweet debut at the box office over the weekend. The prequel to the classic tale of Willy Wonka debuted at No. 1 at the box office, earning $39 million domestically and $150 million worldwide.
Timothée Chalamet takes on the role of the eccentric inventor, magician and chocolatier, but unlike Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder, Wonka centers around the character’s early years.
