Peterson Invited to USA Basketball 3X3 Trials

One of the greatest point guards in Syracuse women’s basketball history, Alexis Peterson, will attend USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team trials in Colorado Springs, Colo., which begin May 12. Peterson has played in previous editions of 3X Nationals and has played in the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series with USA Basketball since 2018.

Peterson scored 1,978 points during her four-year career with the Orange and helped lead Syracuse to its first NCAA Women’s Final Four and Championship Game appearance in 2016. As a junior, Peterson was named ACC Player of the Year and earned WBCA Division I Coaches All-America and  Associated Press All-America Second Team honors while being named All-America honorable mention by espnW. 

The Columbus, Ohio, native has played with Force X on the FIBA 3×3 circuit and teamed up with Breanna Richardson, Cierra Burdick and Linnae Harper to go 5-0 representing Team USA at the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Klaipeda Stop in 2021. With Force 10, she won the 2021 Red Bull USA Basketball 3x Nationals. 

The 15th overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm, Peterson played one season with the storm as backup point guard before being released the following season. She’s played in Israel’s top women’s division and has also spent time at WNBA training camp for the Phoenix Mercury and Indiana Fever. 

Peterson is currently signed to a training camp contract with the defending WNBA Champions Las Vegas Aces.
