An Interview with Cristal Ramirez of Indie Pop Band ‘The Aces’

Formerly ‘The Blue Aces’, The Aces is an alternative pop band from Provo, Utah. The band includes Cristal Ramirez (lead vocals and guitar), Alisa Ramirez (drums), Katie Henderson (guitar), and McKenna Petty (bass). Their debut single as The Aces, “Stuck”, was released in 2016 and eventually ranked #38 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart in 2017. In April 2018, the band’s first album When My Heart Felt Volcanic was released. The Aces opened for 5 Seconds of Summer’s Meet You There World Tour, in 2018 followed by the band’s own headlined Waiting for You Tour.

The band announced their second LP album Under My Influence in 2020, delaying its release in response to the George Floyd Protests until July 17th. Their third and most recent LP I’ve Loved You For So Long has been in the works and will be released on June 2nd this year.
