Orange Welcome Dominique Camp for 2023-24 Season

Dominique Camp, a 5-foot-8 guard from Dayton, Ohio, will join the Orange for the 2023-24 women’s basketball season. Camp spent this past season at Akron after playing the 2021-22 season for Felisha Legette-Jack at Buffalo.

“Dominique has worked her way up to this point,” Legette-Jack said. “I have watched this young lady grow into an incredible passer, rebounder, and defender but most importantly I’ve watched her grow into a wonderful woman. We are fortunate to have Dom re-join our team. She fits into our fundamentals of character, academics, and basketball.”

Camp began her collegiate career at Sinclair Community College where she was an Ohio Community College Athletic Conference First Team and All-District XII honoree. She was named the OCCAC Defensive and Co-Freshman of the year for the 2019-20 season. She started 28 of 29 games at Sinclair and averaged 19.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. She added 193 assists, 6.7 per game, which ranked third in JuCo that year.

After Sinclair, Camp transferred to Troy where she appeared in 17 games as a sophomore helping the Trojans to a Sun Belt Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021. She shot 39 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range.

During the 2021-22 season at Buffalo, Camp was one of five Bulls to appear in all 34 games earning 24 starts. She was second on the team in assists with 133 (Dyaisha Fair led with 149). She averaged 26.6 minutes per game at Buffalo and was a 73.7 percent free throw shooter.

She transferred to Akron for the 2022-23 season where she averaged 10.8 points and 3.2 rebounds while dishing out 3.7 assists per game. After coming off the bench in the season opener, Camp started in the final 28 games of the season and shot 44.5 percent from the field and 77.9 percent from the charity stripe.

Camp played at Lakota West High School where she was an Ohio-Kentucky All-Star and District 15 All-Star. She was an All-GMC Second Team honoree and helped her team to a 23-3 record en route to both the GMC and Sectional Championship.
