Dyaisha Fair Earns ACC Player of the Week Honors

Syracuse guard Dyaisha Fair has been named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Week. Fair averaged an impressive 27.5 points per game over a 1-1 week at home for the Orange (14-8, 5-6  ACC). 

Fair scored a season-high 36 points in a 90-72 win over Virginia on Thursday night at the JMA Wireless Dome. She was 11-for-16 from the field and an impressive 8-for-11 from three-point range. Her eight threes against UVA tied a program record  for three-pointers in a game. She followed up Thursday’s performance with 19 points against Louisville on Sunday. Fair was 50 percent from the field (7-for-11) and nearly perfect from behind the arc going 5-for-7 in the loss. 

The senior guard averaged 60 percent from the field and 72.7 percent from three-point range while grabbing 4.5 rebounds and dishing 4.5 assists per game last week. She added 2.0 steals per game and was 75 percent from the charity stripe. 

Earlier on Monday, Fair was named a Nancy Lieberman Award Top-10 Finalist and is one of two ACC guards on the list (Olivia Miles, Notre Dame.) The Lieberman Award recognizes the top NCAA Division I point guard in women’s college basketball each season. 

This is the first ACC Player of the Week nod for the Orange this season and the first of Fair’s career at Syracuse.
